Juventus reportedly took the opportunity to enquire about Al-Hilal striker Darwin Nunez, who was in Turin alongside his agent.
On Tuesday, an international friendly took place at the Allianz Stadium between Uruguay and Algeria. Several Bianconeri officials attended the game, including club president Gianluca Ferrero and sporting director Marco Ottolini, who had the chance to monitor and assess several possible transfer targets.

It was reported that the Juventus management was particularly interested in Manuel Ugarte, who is unsatisfied with his limited role at Manchester United.
But according to other sources, including Gianni Balzarini, the Serie A giants could be eyeing a move for another Uruguayan international in Darwin Nunez.
The Juventus-specialised journalist reveals that the striker’s agent, Tommaso Inzaghi, was also spotted at Continassa, suggesting that the two parties discussed the 26-year-old’s future.
“Now we have Darwin Nunez, another suggestion. He currently plays for Al-Hilal,” said Balzarini on his YouTube channel as transcribed by TuttoJuve.
“Simone Inzaghi’s son is his agent. Uruguay plays at the Stadium. The fact that Simone Inzaghi’s son was at Continassa suggests that Darwin Nunez could be a new Juventus striker.”
While this remains a mere speculation, clubs often seize opportunities to enquire about potential transfer targets, but aren’t necessarily followed by concrete negotiations.
Nunez has lost his role at Al-Hilal
Nunez had memorable spells at Almeria and Benfica earlier in his career, which prompted an £80 million transfer to Al-Hilal in the summer of 2022.
However, the Uruguayan wasn’t always prolific in front of goal, so the Reds sold him to Al-Hilal last summer, making room for Alexander Isak.
In his maiden season in Saudi Arabia, Nunez contributed with nine goals and six assists, but was dropped from Simone Inzaghi’s squad in the middle of the campaign following the arrival of Karim Benzema, who took his spot.
Therefore, the centre-forward could be seeking a summer exit, and it remains to be seen if Juventus will be seriously interested in his services.
